Refund policy
1. Overview
At Bread Social, we are committed to providing high quality baked goods across our online store and retail locations.
This Refund Policy outlines how we handle refunds, returns, and replacements in accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
2. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the issue does not amount to a major failure.
3. Perishable Goods
As we sell fresh baked goods, many of our products are perishable and intended for immediate consumption.
Due to the nature of these products, we generally do not offer refunds or returns for change of mind to the extent permitted by law.
However, this does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer laws.
4. When You Are Eligible for a Refund or Replacement
You may be entitled to a refund or replacement if:
- The product is faulty or damaged
- The product is not what you ordered
- The product is not of acceptable quality
- The product does not match its description
Where appropriate and in accordance with Australian Consumer Law, we may offer a replacement or store credit.
However, you will always be entitled to a remedy required under Australian Consumer Law.
5. Online Orders (Retail)
For online retail orders:
- Orders cannot be cancelled once prepared or dispatched for pickup, except where required under Australian Consumer Law
- It is the customer’s responsibility to collect orders from the selected pickup location (Currumbin or Tweed Heads)
- Failure to collect an order does not automatically entitle a refund unless required under Australian Consumer Law
6. Stockists
Products purchased through our stockists are subject to the individual stockist’s return policy. Refund requests for these purchases should be directed to the original place of purchase. This does not affect any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
7. How to Request a Refund

- Description of the issue
- Photos (if applicable)
We will assess your request and respond as soon as possible.
8. Processing of Approved Refunds
If a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method where possible. Processing times may vary depending on your payment provider.
